The European Studies Concentration emphasizes the interdisciplinary study of European cultures and societies. Courses in this Concentration combine history, religion/philosophy, literature, art, political science, and language skills to give you the tools to understand and interpret Europe’s past and present.

Concentration Content

  • The International Studies core requirements
  • At least three years of a single European language
  • One semester of introduction to geography
  • A set of two courses in European history
  • Eight courses from the following topic areas
    • History and Politics of Europe
    • The Thought and Cultures of Europe
    • International Studies

Presently, there are several European languages offered at Colorado State University, but other languages could be studied in study abroad programs with approval of your advisor for this major.
