Biography

Meagan Todd has a PhD in geography from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and was a postdoctoral scholar with the Russian Studies Workshop at the School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University. Her interests are the politics of religion and civil society in Russia, with a focus on Muslim communities. She is particularly interested in the challenges that Moscow's diverse Muslim communities face in forging new public spaces and sites of worship.

She has taught extensively in international studies and geography, including courses on globalization and the geographies of Islam. Meagan has studied and researched widely in Russia and the former Soviet Union, from studying as an undergraduate at the University of Tartu in Estonia, to immersive Russian training at Astrakhan State University, to completing research with the support of the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow. Her international studies career has been supported by the Critical Language Studies scholarship, the Fulbright-Hays program, and the Social Sciences Research Council Eurasia program.  At CSU, she looks forward to teaching core courses in International Studies and engaging with undergraduates in the program.
